Wildcats getting their GOAL kicks

The Greater Latrobe boys soccer team recently completed a soccer cleats drive to help those who are less fortunate. The program is called GOAL (Giving Other Athletes Laces) and the tradition of the GOAL kicks project was created by current team members Vinny Oddo, Will Casey, Nico Lorenzi, Benjamin Biji and graduate Isaac Bigi, as gently worn and indoor soccer cleats were donated by Greater Latrobe boys and girls’ soccer families. The players cleaned and bought new laces for the cleats, and in the past, shipped shoes to underprivileged athletes in St. Lucia, San Felipe and New Mexico. This season, Greater Latrobe donated to Pittsburgh-based Open Field International. The organization was created about 10 years ago and donates soccer equipment to refugees in the greater Pittsburgh area, in addition to people of West Africa.
