GL girls' basketball award-winners

Three members of the Greater Latrobe girls’ basketball team received awards at its recent end-of-year banquet. They include Emma Blair, Most Improved Player; Lexi McNeil, Defensive Player of the Year, and Anna Rafferty, Offensive Player of the Year and PAW Award. Blair started as a freshman and averaged 9.3 points and led the team in rebounds (9.8) and minutes played at more than 26 a game. McNeil, a junior, was called upon to use her length and quickness to guard the opposing teams’ best players. Rafferty, a sophomore, finished as the Wildcats’ leading scorer at 12.6 points a game, first in plus-minus differential (plus-8.5 points), second in rebounds (9.7) and among the team leaders in blocks, steals and deflections. The PAW award is presented to the player who had the most impact for the benefit of the team.
