Monday was the first training camp after the Pittsburgh Steelers rallied in the closing minutes of Saturday’s first preseason game at Acrisure Stadium to upend the Seattle Seahawks 32-25.

When Ligonier Valley High School graduate Hayes Salancy stepped down as athletic trainer at the end of the 2021-22 school year, the Ligonier Valley athletics program was searching for someone to take over the duties of helping keep athletes healthy and in the game.
“We have every intention of playing the three quarterbacks,” Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said. “How much is to be determined. A lot of some of the hard and fast things that you guys might be interested in as I sit here today I’m just not going to have the answers.”
The Allegheny Football Conference, 2A,Section 1 of the WPIAL, will host media day today at Burrell High School. Impact athletes and head coaches from all eight schools – Apollo-Ridge, Burrell, Derry Area, Imani Christian, Ligonier Valley, Serra Catholic, Steel Valley and Yough — will be in attendance to discuss their upcoming 2022 Football Campaign.
Ligonier Valley’s boys’ golf coach Al Gaiardo enters his 16th season at the helm, and said he’s truly looking forward to the season with a great bunch of kids who work hard.
