Unity Township plans to celebrate the Christmas season with a pair of holiday-themed events on Dec. 6.

Deck the Tree with Unity will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at the township municipal building, 154 Beatty County Road. The annual event will feature the lighting of a “CommUNITY Tree,” a visit from Santa, treats for children, a bonfire, holiday carols and hot cocoa for attendees.

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be canceled, township officials said.

The Unity Township Supervisors also invite area seniors to attend a holiday luncheon starting at noon Dec. 6 at Giannilli’s II along Route 30 West. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

The cost of the event, for ages 50 and up, is $10 per person. All seniors and their guests are welcome, but space is limited. Tickets are available at the township municipal building.

Call the township office at 724-539-2546 for more details about either event.
