State police at Indiana report two people were injured when a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 driven north on Route 119 in Burrell Township by Robert P. Ginter, 76, of Homer City struck a 2011 Kia Soul driven by Raymond J. Winkelman Jr., 26, of Blairsville as it attempted to make a left turn from Main Street onto Route 119 South while the traffic signal was green around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. Ginter, who was cited for failing to obey traffic control devices, was transported by Citizens’ Ambulance Service to Indiana Regional Medical Center with a suspected minor injury. Winkelman was transported by Citizens’ Ambulance Service to Allegheny Health Network Forbes Regional Hospital with a suspected serious injury. Read more

State police at Greensburg report a 42-year-old Hostetter man was accused of harassment after allegedly pushing an 18-year-old Latrobe man against a car door during an argument inside the vehicle on Pony Row in Unity Township around 5:05 p.m. Monday, May 25. Read more

State police at Greensburg report Angela Haman, 48, and Ralph Kuzmin, 56, both of Avonmore, and Thomas Walker, 43, and Erika Walker, 39, both of West Newton, were cited for harassment after troopers were called to a “family dispute” where the individuals allegedly pushed and shoved each other around 5:11 p.m. May 19 on the 500 block of Westchester Drive in Hempfield Township. State police at Greensburg report Justin David Hill, 33, of Latrobe was arrested after allegedly taking a bedding set valued at $64 from the shelves at the Walmart store on Colony Lane in Unity Township around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, and returning the item at the store’s customer service desk for cash. According to police, Hill was stopped in the parking lot of the Lowe’s store in the same plaza, became combative and resisted arrest. Police allegedly recovered stamp bags of heroin, a metal spoon and a hypodermic needle after taking Hill into custody. Troopers also learned Hill had been banned from all Walmart locations as a result of a previous retail theft arrest, and Hill later admitted he provided police with false information about his identity throughout the incident because of outstanding warrants. State police at Indiana report Robert J. Sims, 25, of Carnegie was injured when a 2012 Chevrolet Impala driven west on Route 22 in West Wheatfield Township by Herman D. Luther, 87, of New Florence turned left toward Clay Pike Road into the path of the 2018 Suzuki GSX-S750Z motorcycle Sims was driving east on Route 22 around 2:36 p.m. Saturday, May 16. Sims was thrown from the motorcycle and was transported by Citizens’ Ambulance with suspected serious injuries. Luther, who was not injured, was cited for vehicle turning left. Read more

State police at Greensburg report Nancy Raabe, 52, of Unity Township was arrested for institutional vandalism after allegedly “attempting to make herself throw up, coughing and screaming she had the COVID-19 virus,” while being transported in a state police patrol vehicle around 10:05 a.m. April 7. Latrobe police report the operators of a truck hauling an antique stove discovered the iron burner covers from the stove had fallen off as the truck was traveling through Latrobe around 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13. According to police, the truck travelled from the 300 block of Main Street along Lincoln Avenue to Route 981 and made its way to Route 30. State police at Kiski Valley report someone stole a red 15-foot Coleman canoe with black trim from the back yard of a home on the 100 block of Hoffman Heights Road in Salem Township around 1:31 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, and fled south on Hoffman Heights Road, possibly in a white Chevrolet S10 or Ford Ranger regular cab pickup truck with damage to the front driver’s side area and one or more windows. State police at Greensburg report a 2017 Ford Fusion driven east on Depot Street in Youngwood entered the parking lot of the Youngwood Corner Market at 1 North 4th St. and struck the building after the unnamed driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake around 12:28 p.m. Sunday, May 10. State police at Kiski Valley report an unnamed suspect entered a store on Hollywood Boulevard, stole a black KitchenAid mixer valued at $199 and fled the scene in a red Volkswagen around 10:41 a.m. April 24. State police at Greensburg report Jesse Lynn Hayes, 35, of Mount Pleasant was charged with harassment after police investigated a report of harassment on the 200 block of Dos Drive in Unity Township on Monday, May 4 and discovered Hayes had allegedly made multiple phone calls from different numbers to a 55-year-old Unity Township man and continued sending text messages and leaving voicemails despite being asked to stop. State police at Indiana report troopers from the station responded to 3,995 incidents during the month of April. Of the 146 criminal offenses reported, 136 were determined to be founded. Police cleared 78 criminal offenses, making 81 arrests. Troopers responded to 32 crashes involving six injuries, none fatal, and investigated three hit-and-run crashes. Police made seven DUI arrests and responded to three DUI-related crashes. Police issued 47 traffic citations and 47 warnings. Troopers assisted 58 motorists and conducted 18 commercial motor vehicle inspections. Read more

State police at Greensburg are seeking assistance from the public to identify a man suspected of attempting to steal an Apple Macbook Pro laptop valued at $1,499 from the Best Buy store along Donohoe Road in Hempfield Township around 10:08 a.m. Saturday, May 2. According to police, this man approached employees at the store to retrieve the laptop while another man waited outside in a gray Dodge Charger. Employees suspected fraud when the man allegedly provided a false identification card with an address that didn’t match the address on the receipt for the laptop. State police at Indiana report a property owner on Ray Street in Conemaugh Township allegedly threw small logs at people who were trespassing on the property while fishing around 6:41 p.m. April 15 in an attempt to get them to leave. State police at Indiana report someone forcibly entered a garage on Pine Street in Burrell Township and stole several items, then gained access to the home through a basement door and took additional items on April 18. Stolen, according to police, were an S Tool Snap On Solves scanner valued at $4,500, an OBD Tech 2 scan tool for GM valued at $3,200, a drill press valued at $400, a MIC welder, various Milwaukee tools and an Autel bore scope. State police at Greensburg report Joseph Good, 35, of Jeannette was charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal trespassing after allegedly stealing a 75-inch LG television from inside a home on the 400 block of Wendel Road in Hempfield Township between 10 p.m. April 20 and 7:50 a.m. April 21. State police at Kiski Valley report troopers were called to a home on the 400 block of Moween Road in Loyalhanna Township around 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 for a report that a woman was attempting to harm herself. Troopers arrived to find a woman covered in blood holding a knife, police said, and the woman dropped the knife without further incident. Emergency medical personnel found a stab wound in the woman’s wrist and police found two dogs at the home had been stabbed to death, allegedly by the woman. The woman was transported to Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, police said. Charges are pending. Read more
