State police at Greensburg report troopers are investigating a theft case involving a 58-year-old Latrobe woman who lost $1,200 around 3 p.m. March 13 on Black Hill Drive in Unity Township.
State police at Greensburg report members of the Greensburg barracks conducted more than 171 domestic security checks at various houses of worship, churches, synagogues and temples throughout municipalities in its coverage area. This effort was in conjunction with Passover and Easter celebrations and helped to serve as a deterrent to any possible criminal acts during Holy Week. Police said members of the Greensburg barracks actively engaged citizens in attendance at their various church and worship services, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. Members were invited to various future functions, played with Sunday school students, addressed issues of safety concerns to parishioners and assured citizens that the Pennsylvania State Police is always here to serve them in any capacity it can. State police at Greensburg report no one was injured when a 2007 Honda CRV driven by a 17-year-old Jeannette girl in the right lane along Route 30 eastbound in Hempfield Township veered into the left lane and struck a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Spencer G. Mellinger, 39, of Jeannette around 7:39 p.m. Tuesday, March 30. Police said the 17-year-old was believed to have suffered from an anxiety attack. Read more

State police at Kiski Valley report Robert Rockwell, 78, of Bradenville was cited for disorderly conduct after troopers responded around 3:07 p.m. March 16 to Candice Drive in Derry Township for a neighbor dispute. Police said Rockwell moved a mailbox belonging to 80-year-old Norman Black of Bradenville. Police said Rockwell swore and called Black a derogatory comment. Read more
State police at Indiana report a 26-year-old Indiana man was arrested after police conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Chrysler 200 and found the driver to be under the influence of drugs and with a suspended license in the area of Oakland and Fisher avenues in Indiana around 5:42 p.m. March 16. State police at Indiana report two men are accused of stealing three 10-packs of Fireball whiskey from a Sheetz store at 610 Route 22 in Burrell Township around 10:12 p.m. March 3. Police said the men fled the scene heading west on Route 22 in a black Chrysler 300 with tinted windows and black rims. Police said the passenger, a Black man wearing a black coat, with a thick fur collar, pink baseball cap, white glasses and carrying a silver cane, entered the store two separate times, removing one to two packs each time. The driver of the vehicle was a Black man wearing a fur coat with a black man-bun hairstyle. Read more
State police at Greensburg report James Kilpatrick, 38, of Jeannette was arrested after troopers responded around 9:11 p.m. Thursday, March 11, to the 1200 block of S. Main Street in South Greensburg regarding a domestic disturbance involving Kilpatrick and a 46-year-old Jeannette woman. Harassment charges are pending through the office of Magisterial District Justice Anthony Bompiani. Read more
State police at Greensburg report Gregory Gromley, 33, of Greensburg was arrested after troopers responded around 7:03 p.m. March 8 to a residence on Clawson Avenue in Hempfield Township for a domestic disturbance in progress involving a 32-year-old Greensburg woman. Police said the incident was ongoing when troopers arrived, and Gromley resisted arrest. Gromley was transported to Westmoreland County Prison to await arraignment. Read more
State police at Indiana report Amanda Randall, 37, and Shane Randall, 36, both of Seward, were accused of endangering the welfare of a child after troopers responded to a report of a shoeless/jacketless 15-year-old boy walking along Route 56 in East Wheatfield Township in 19 degree weather around 10:29 p.m. Thursday, March 4. Police said the boy arrived at a local gas station and troopers were summoned. Upon arrival, police learned that the child’s parents abandoned him after an argument in their vehicle. Read more
State police at Greensburg report Katie Mahoney, 24, of Latrobe was accused of retail theft for allegedly taking two car battery jump starters valued at $137.39 and exited the Walmart store on Greengate Centre Circle in Hempfield Township around 6:27 p.m. March 1. State police at Indiana report troopers from the station responded to 1,559 incidents in the month of February. Of the 120 criminal offenses reported, 119 were determined to be founded. Police cleared 79 criminal offenses, making 93 arrests. Troopers responded to 77 crashes, zero fatal, involving 12 injuries. Police investigated 11 hit-and-run crashes, zero fatal, and made 16 DUI arrests while responding to five DUI-related crashes, zero fatal. Troopers issued 264 traffic citations, 129 warnings and nine seat belt citations. Police assisted 49 motorists and conducted 21 commercial motor vehicle inspections. Read more
State police Kiski Valley report Anna M. McCuch, 26, of Saltsburg suffered a suspected minor injury during a two-vehicle crash on Route 22 in Salem Township around 7:58 p.m. Feb. 25. Police said an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Trax driven by McCuch on Route 22 was stopped in the right lane when a 2009 Hyundai Accent driven by Kevin J. Rose, 32, of New Florence failed to slow down for traffic stopped at a red light and swerved into the right lane and struck the Chevrolet as it was attempting to leave the roadway. Mutual Aid EMS, Barry Kelley’s Township and Trooper Joshua Abernathy assisted state police on scene. Rose was cited for careless driving. Read more
