Latrobe police report Teresa Hall, 48, of Latrobe was arrested for simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness after a verbal argument with a 46-year-old Latrobe man at a home on the 600 block of James Street in Latrobe allegedly became physical around 1:11 a.m. Friday, July 31. State police at Kiski Valley report a 59-year-old Derry man was accused of multiple traffic violations after allegedly driving to a hearing at the Derry Township office of Magisterial District Judge Mark Bilik around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, with a driver’s license that was suspended and expired and in a vehicle that did not have a required ignition interlock device installed. State police at Greensburg report a 53-year-old New Stanton woman told police she saw an unknown male taking $7 or $8 in change from the trunk of a vehicle on Yellow Pine Lane in Hempfield Township around 2:55 p.m. Monday, July 27. Latrobe police report an unknown white male entered the BP gas station and convenience store on Lloyd Avenue in Latrobe around 3:45 p.m. Sunday, July 26, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect then forced a male customer behind the counter at gunpoint and fled the scene. The suspect is described as a white male, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, a blue face mask, blue jeans and a gray baseball cap, possibly driving a tan or gold SUV. State police at Kiski Valley report an unknown white male suspect allegedly used force to enter the front of West Central Equipment along Route 119 in Salem Township and stole $5,000 worth of equipment, including chainsaws and a generator, around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25. Read more

State police at Greensburg report a package containing a bottle of 90 pills of pain medication was delivered to the wrong address in Sewickley Township around July 15. Police determined after further investigation that the package was opened, but no medication was missing and the package was eventually returned to the mail carrier. Read more

State police at Greensburg report troopers were contacted around 5:22 a.m. Saturday, July 18, by a complainant who reported a window was smashed at an exterior garage at West Point Volunteer Fire Department on Volunteers Drive in Hempfield Township and a gas grill with a rotisserie inside the garage was damaged. According to police, three unknown male juveniles fled the scene on bicycles. The damaged window was valued at $1,500 and the damaged grill at $400, police said. Read more

State police at Kiski Valley report Derek Von Hoffman, 29, of Avonmore was accused of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop around 5:42 p.m. Monday, July 20, on Route 981 in Bell Township. According to police, Hoffman was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and police learned he had a warrant out for his arrest from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office for access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property. He was taken into custody and held in Westmoreland County Prison police said. Charges are pending. Read more

State police at Kiski Valley report troopers investigated a report that a white male entered a property on Carnahan Road in Bell Township around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 12, and used a hot tub and some towels despite “No Trespassing” signs posted on the property. State police at Greensburg report George Cole, 53, of South Greensburg was accused of disorderly conduct after troopers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Oak Street in South Greensburg around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 11, for a report of fireworks being set off close to homes. Police made contact with Cole, who was allegedly present when multiple minors were setting off fireworks and, when confronted about the fireworks, Cole allegedly told Tpr. Hannah Huber “that he was my boss because of his title as a councilman of the Borough of South Greensburg.” Huber wrote in a public information release that Cole was belligerent and remained uncooperative throughout the encounter. A citation for disorderly conduct is pending, police said. Read more

Haslam, 45, of Bedford was transported by Mutual Aid Ambulance to Excela Health Latrobe Hospital with suspected minor injuries after police said he suffered a diabetic emergency while driving a 2011 Ford Focus, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of West Fourth Avenue and South Chestnut Street in Derry Borough around 8:47 a.m. Monday, July 6, and struck a parked 2018 Jeep Cherokee, pushing the SUV forward into a parked trailer and forcing it forward into a parked 2014 Jeep Wrangler.
