State police at Indiana report troopers responded to a report of garbage dumped on a property on Country Lane Road in Burrell Township at 10:08 a.m. Dec. 3 and recovered identifiable documents among the rubbish. Police are continuing to investigate. No charges are pending at this time, police said.
State police at Greensburg report Kaitlyn Binder, 19, of Unity Township was accused of disorderly conduct after troopers were summoned to investigate a report of a woman being physically attacked by her father at a home on Valleyview Drive in Unity Township around 3:14 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Upon investigating, police found that Binder allegedly purchased a pet rat against her parents’ wishes, then called her employer and claimed her father had attacked her in hopes she would be able to miss work and have her father arrested. Charges are pending.
State police at Kiski Valley report a 25-year-old New Alexandria man was accused of striking a 24-year-old Forbes Road woman in the face and head, causing no injury, and kicked the woman’s 2015 Dodge Journey, causing a dent to the vehicle’s passenger side door during an altercation on Kunkle Street in Salem Township around 11:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. Charges of harassment and criminal mischief are pending.
State police at Kiski Valley report criminal charges are pending against William S. Daniels, 35, of Lakeway, Texas, after the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving north on Route 66 in Salem Township failed to yield to a 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Garrett A. Ingram, 31, of Greensburg as both vehicles entered an exit ramp to Route 22 around 5:29 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, causing a crash. According to police, Daniels then fled the scene headed west on Route 22 and was located several miles from the crash scene. Daniels was cited for failing to obey stop signs and yield signs and was accused of DUI.
State police at Indiana report Scott M. Stinson, 28, of Homer City was cited for harassment after allegedly striking two 16-year-old boys following a two-vehicle crash on Auen Road in Conemaugh Township at around 8:24 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. According to police, no one was injured in the crash involving a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Latrobe boy and the vehicle in which Stinson was a passenger, which was driven by Terri L. Snow, 34, of Homer City.
State police at Kiski Valley report no one was injured when a 2019 Honda Ridgeline driven by April L. Zakany, 43, of Saltsburg pulled out from a stop sign on Story Road in Salem Township onto Route 66 South into the path of a 2014 Ram 1500 driven north on Route 66 by Patrick T. Gorslene, 50, of Blairsville at 10:27 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22. Zakany was cited for failing to obey stop signs and yield signs.
State police at Greensburg report troopers are searching for a white man around 40 years old who allegedly walked into a branch of cfsbank Hempfield at 105 Walton Tea Room Road in Hempfield Township around 9:22 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, and displayed a note demanding money. The man allegedly kept his hand in his hooded sweatshirt and threatened to have a weapon. He fled the scene on a bicycle heading north on Walton Tea Room Road with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. Investigators found the bicycle a short distance from the bank. Police also obtained surveillance video of a second white man and a white Ford SUV believed to be involved in the robbery. Anyone with information should contact police at 724-832-3288.
State police at Indiana report troopers investigated after a Saltsburg man reported a woman took his 2014 Toyota Corolla for a drive without permission around 12:46 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, from 720 Salt St. in Saltsburg. The man refused to press charges after the vehicle was returned.
State police at Kiski Valley report troopers investigated a report of assault involving a 51-year-old man at a location on the 1100 block of Hilty Road in Bell Township around 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17.
State police at Kiski Valley report a Salem Township resident contacted police on Wednesday, Nov. 13, and reported their tan 2010 Hyundai Elantra bearing Pennsylvania registration JHK8208 was stolen from their driveway on the 200 block of Kunkle Street overnight. The vehicle has Pittsburgh Steelers sticker in the rear window and is missing the front passenger door handle.
Latrobe police report Ashley Nicole Frye, 25, of Latrobe was charged with simple assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child after police were called to a home on the 2500 block of Ligonier Street to investigate a report of a physical domestic dispute involving a child at 4:24 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10. According to police, a man in the house told officers Frye slapped and punched a boy in the side of the head outside the home.
State police at Greensburg report Tristin Huffine, 19, of Greensburg was charged with theft from motor vehicles and possession of a controlled substance after he allegedly entered numerous unlocked vehicles and removed items from them in the West Point and Wendover areas of Hempfield Township, including Stamford Drive, Summer Springs Lane, Arthur Place and Westland Drive. Huffine was located in the area and taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, police said.
State police at Kiski Valley report charges are pending against a 26-year-old man after police determined he was under the influence of alcohol following a crash involving a deer on Route 22 near Tryon Drive in Derry Township at 12:35 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10.
State police at Kiski Valley report troopers are investigating the accidental death of a 31-year-old Saltsburg man at a home on Dove Drive in Loyalhanna Township around 4:18 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4. According to police, the man had drug addiction and health issues.
State police at Greensburg report troopers are investigating theft by deception and identity theft after a 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro valued at $1,149, Apple AirPods with a charging case valued at $144.99 and an Apple Watch S5 valued at $399 were allegedly taken from the Best Buy store on Donohoe Road in Hempfield Township on Sept. 23 using counterfeited or forged information.
State police at Indiana report no one was injured when a 2006 Kia Sorento driven south on Route 217 in Burrell Township lost control on a left curve, spun on the wet roadway and struck a 1993 Saturn SC driven north on Route 217 at 5:26 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. Police did not release the identity of either driver involved in the crash, but indicated the driver of the Kia was cited for not driving at a safe speed.
State police at Kiski Valley report no one was injured when a 2013 Dodge Caravan driven west on Industrial Boulevard in Derry Township by Kenneth M. Fatino, 29, of Blairsville rear-ended a 2017 Ford F-150 XLT driven by Daniel J. Rullo, 54, of New Alexandria as it was stopped at a steady red light at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. Fatino was cited for careless driving.
