State police at Greensburg report a 43-year-old Latrobe woman related to police that the back glass window of her 2019 Jeep Cherokee was shattered by an unknown object on Jay Street in Unity Township between 5 p.m. Jan. 5 and 7:10 a.m. Jan. 6. State police at Greensburg report no one was injured when a 2010 Toyota Tacoma driven west along Donohoe Road in Unity Township by Thomas M. Strader, 46, of Latrobe hit a slushy spot on the roadway, lost control and veered to the left striking a telephone police around 9:53 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31. State police at Greensburg report no one was injured when a 2014 GM Sierra driven south along Bethel Church Road in Cook Township by Christopher L. Rob, 28, of Latrobe failed to negotiate a right curve and exited the southbound lane into a wooded area off the northbound lane striking multiple trees with the 1 o’clock position of the vehicle around 12:52 p.m. Dec. 20. Rob was cited for obedience to traffic-control devices. Read more

State police at Greensburg report no one was injured when a 1994 Ford F350 was moving straight and traveling at a slow rate of speed in the parking lot behind Rite Aid in Unity Township’s Latrobe 30 Shoppes when a 2011 Jeep Liberty was pulling away from the back entrance of the building and was struck by the Ford around 3:05 p.m. Dec. 20. Police determined neither operator was at fault for failing to see the other’s movements. Minor damage was observed on the Ford’s front bumper and the Jeep’s rear passenger quarter panel. Read more

State police at Greensburg report troopers responded to Chestnut Street in New Florence around 9:18 a.m. Dec. 9 after a 64-year-old New Florence woman reported $550 and a credit card were stolen from a 2018 Dodge Chrysler. The investigation is ongoing. Read more

Latrobe police report Richard Joseph Santone, 53, of Latrobe was arrested for driving under the influence after police were called to investigate a vehicle accident at the intersection of Lloyd Avenue and Unity Street in Latrobe around 5:57 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18. According to police, Santone was traveling south on Lloyd Avenue when he crossed into the path and struck a vehicle driven by Dawnell Clark, 52, of Derry, near the Unity Street intersection. State police at Greensburg report Candice Kunkle, 56, of Penn Township and Heather Kunkle, 33, of Mount Pleasant were charged with harassment following a domestic incident which occurred at a residence along Gratz Street in Hempfield Township around 8:22 p.m. Nov. 28. Read more

State police at Greensburg report troopers from the station responded to 2,094 incidents in the month of November. Of the 139 criminal offenses reported, 130 were determined to be founded. Troopers cleared 81 criminal offenses, making 82 arrests. Police responded to 129 crashes involving 31 injuries, zero fatal. Troopers responded to five DUI-related crashes and zero DUI-related fatalities. Police investigated 16 hit-and-run crashes and made 23 DUI arrests. Troopers issued 394 traffic citations and 509 warnings. Read more

State police at Greensburg report Bradley Kunkle, 38, Greensburg was arrested for driving under the influence following a brief pursuit near the intersection of Sheraton Drive and Route 30 in Hempfield Township around 11:09 a.m. Dec. 1. Police say Kunkle sped off from an attempted traffic stop on a 2013 Toyota Corolla and voluntarily stopped his vehicle a short distance away. Read more

State police at Greensburg report a 36-year-old Fairfield Township woman and a 56-year-old Ligonier woman were cited for harassment following a domestic incident in the 200 block of Rudder Road in Fairfield Township around 11:10 a.m. Nov. 21. State police at Greensburg report Dung Nguyen Truong, 48, of Etna was charged with criminal trespassing at Live! Casino Pittsburgh in Hempfield Township around 10:21 p.m. Nov. 29. According to police, Truong entered and remained in the casino “knowing he was not permitted to do so.” Read more

State police at Greensburg report Joseph Malago, 48, of Latrobe was charged with writing bad checks after police responded to a location along Lincoln Highway in Unity Township for a report of fraudulent checks around 5:17 p.m. Sept. 22. Malago wrote numerous fraudulent checks totaling $20,535.44. Read more

State police at Greensburg report Jonathon Shetler, 35, of Saltsburg was charged with drug possession and DUI around after an incident which occurred along Robb Road in St. Clair Township around 2:12 p.m. Nov. 17.
