Pirates visit Clelian Heights

Diane Izatt, a member of the Clelian Heights staff, gives Pittsburgh Pirates star first baseman Josh Bell a high five. Bell, bullpen coach Justin Meccage, first base coach Tarrik Brock, pitcher Sam Howard, and pitcher Clay Holmes visited students at Clelian Heights in Hempfield Township on Wednesday as part of the 2020 Pirates Charities CARE-a-van program. The Pirates, in partnership with volunteers from LJ Aviation of Latrobe, hosted a fantasy camp for 40 students. The CARE-a-van will take part in more than 35 events impacting 18 cities in the greater Pittsburgh area. In the left photo, Clelian Heights student John Wagner pitches the ball as Pirate pitcher Sam Howard watches.
