The cause and manner of death for a 56-year-old man found dead in a creek in Irwin have yet to be determined, although the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office reported it found no evidence of trauma or foul play involved.
Kenneth R. Rhodes Sr. of Irwin was discovered dead in Tinkers Run Creek in Irwin on Saturday after people walking along the creek spotted his body in the water.
Rhodes was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Jonathon W. Jenkins at 4:12 p.m.
An autopsy was performed Sunday by Dr. Cyril H. Wecht and Pathology Associates. Cause and manner of death are pending final autopsy and toxicology results.
Irwin Borough police and the Westmoreland County Detective Bureau also investigated, according to the coroner’s report.
