A 30-year-old Johnstown man was killed over the weekend in a single-vehicle crash on Route 22 in Murrysville, authorities said.

Eduardo Luis Palmar was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 1:10 a.m. Sunday by a Westmoreland County deputy coroner.

According to Murrysville police, the 2018 Chevrolet sedan Palmar was driving was traveling at a high rate of speed heading west on Route 22 near Rick’s Sports Bar when it crashed into a metal traffic barrier in the middle of the highway around midnight.

A witness reportedly told police Palmar’s vehicle was speeding and weaving between lanes on the highway prior to the crash.
