Funds awarded for new Bradenville fire station

Derry Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 of Bradenville recently was awarded $749,687 in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant funding to construct a new fire station to replace the current structure that was built in 1952. Celebrating the news are Derry Township Supervisors Jim Prohaska and David Slifka, state Rep. Joe Petrarca, legislative assistant Gina Scheller, building committee member Tobe Cackowski, Bradenville Fire Chief Mark Piantine and Assistant Fire Chief Nick Piantine. The project is expected to begin in November.
