GL teacher, world language department honored by PSMLA

Leslie Harvey, Rachel Collette, Laura Smith Megan Welty, Liz Antolik and Katie Zalewski pose for a photo after Zalewski, Greater Latrobe French teacher and head of the Global Scholars Program, and the Greater Latrobe World Language Department was recently recognized by the Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association (PSMLA) for their work in establishing the PSMLA Global Scholars program at the senior high school and “inspiring and challenging students to become PSMLA Global Scholar Graduates for at least two consecutive years.” They were commended for “their commitment to furthering interculturality and global competence” in their students. The GLSD World Language Department has adapted its instructional and learning strategies during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to guide students through the PSMLA Global Scholars program process. Missing from the photo are Oliver Kiefer, Holly Wilkerson and Christine Reisz.
