Area dancers to perform in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

LVSD dancers scheduled to perform Nov. 28 in New York City are Abbey Cowan, Kyri Hammers, Chloe Morrison, Reagan Twaddle, Tristin Peltz-Palko, Bella Acito, (middle) Ariana Harr, Ava Puschnigg, Ally Thomas, Rachel Newill, Lauren Herrington, Alisha Mauro, Anna Oshie, (back) Becca Miller, Jessica Bald, Jameson Harvey, Autumn Stemmler, Nina Modecki and Alexis Coletti.

Laurel Valley Academy of Dance of Latrobe will have dancers performing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

The Spirit of America Productions has again extended an invitation to Laurel Valley Academy of Dance. LVAD will have 19 dancers traveling to New York City for this experience.

The dancers are Bella Acito, Jessica Bald, Alexis Coletti, Abbey Cowan, Ariana Harr, Jameson Harvey, Lauren Herrington, Becca Miller, Nina Modecki, Chloe Morrison, Rachel Newill, Autumn Stemmler, Ally Thomas, Reagan Twaddle, all of Latrobe; Kyri Hammers, Alisha Mauro, Anna Oshie, all of Derry, and Tristin Peltz-Palko and Ava Puschnigg, both of Ligonier.

Angela Guidos, LVAD owner; Ashley Masters, LVAD instructor, and several parents will travel with the dancers for the weeklong experience. Guidos noted, “For these dancers, this is an amazing once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The trip will include the new hit Disney Broadway show ‘Frozen,’ the world-famous Rockettes’ Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall, a harbor cruise around Liberty Island, a visit to the Empire State Building, New York City tours, ice skating at Rockefeller Center, visits to Chinatown, Little Italy, Hudson Yards and much more.

“The dancers will have many rehearsals with the entire Spirit of America Dance Team (dancers selected from all across the country) throughout the week, including a special rehearsal on Monday evening in front of Macy’s at Herald Square on 34th Street for the television cameras. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is covered extensively on NBC. The LVAD dancers are proud and very excited to perform in this iconic parade.”
