The Unity Township Hearing Board will conduct public hearings on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. in the Supervisors’ Meeting Room, Unity Township Municipal Building, 154 Beatty County Road, Latrobe, Pennsylvania 15650 on the request of Carol M. Shupe for a special exception to operate an accounting office as a home occupation on the premises located at 125 Dom Leone Street, Latrobe, PA 15650. The property contains approximately 0.75 acres of land, with improvements, bears Westmoreland County Tax Map Parcel No. 61-08-00-0-072 and is located in the R-1 Zoning District. A complete copy of the application referenced above is available for review and photocopy in the Unity Township Zoning/Code Enforcement Office during normal business hours. Sealed bids will be received in the Office of the Westmoreland County Controller, 2 North Main Street, Suite 111, Greensburg, PA 15601, until 2:00 P.M. on July 31, 2018 for the construction of the Trail Improvements at Ann Rudd Saxman Nature Park in Hempfield Township, for the Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation. Bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:15 PM that day in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room #101.

An optional pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Westmoreland Conservation District, 218 Donohoe Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.

Copies of the Bid Documents may be obtained at the office of the Westmoreland Conservation District, 218 Donohoe Road, Greensburg, PA 15601, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. There will be a $50.00 non-refundable fee charged for each set.

The minimum wage requirements as determined by the PA Dept of Labor & Industry shall apply to this project.

The County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all proposals.

Pursuant to the Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Rules and Regulations and Clean Streams Law notice hereby is given that Derry Stone & Lime Company, Inc., doing business at 117 Marcia Street, Latrobe, PA 15650 has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for renewing its existing surface coal mine permit and the related NPDES permit (Permit No. PA0601047). The current permit #65840119 was issued on 02/24/88 and will expire on 02/24/18. This renewal does not contain revisions to the existing operation. The receiving streams for the permit area are unnamed tributaries to McGee Run and unnamed tributaries to Stony Run. The operation is located in Derry Township, Westmoreland County and is known as the Horn Mine. The permit area is situated south of Brenizer, north of Seger Road (T-887), northwest of SR-217, and one-third mile east of Blairsville Road (SR-1025). The Blairsville, Pa., U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute topographic map contains the area described. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Department of Environmental Protection., New Stanton District Office, 131 Broadview Road, New Stanton, PA 15672.
